Invisalign for Adults — Is It Right for You?

How can you determine if Invisalign® is suitable for you? Let's investigate further to find out.

It is not surprising that Invisalign's popularity is on the rise.
Invisalign® is acknowledged as the leader in clear aligners and has helped over 12 million people fix their smiles.

Invisalign helps fix Ortodontic Disorders in a fraction of the time as traditional metal braces!

Orthodontic disorders include; Crowded Teeth, Spaces, Overbites/Underbites, Underbites, or even teeth at odd angles.

While a consultation with an Invisalign practitioner is the only definite way to evaluate your qualification, there are a few additional indicators that may indicate your eligibility.

1. What needs to be fixed, and how serious is it?

This is the most important factor in determining if you are a good candidate for Invisalign.

For difficulties like massive overbites, more complex orthodontic operations are required to reposition the jaw. After you receive a consultation,
Dr. Alvarado will be able to tell you whether or not you are a candidate for Invisalign.

Here is a list of conditions that Invisalign can correct,

  • Tooth Gaps
  • Teeth Crowding
  • Underbites
  • Crossbites
  • Over/Under Bites
  • Mixed Teeth(Mixture of Adult and Baby Teeth)

If your condition is too severe for Invisalign, you may have to resort to traditional metal braces or transparent braces as an alternative. Always discuss alternate treatment options with your orthodontist because there have been a lot of recent advancements in Invisalign that may be able to fix your smile!

2. Invisalign Is Great For All Ages!

Invisalign is ideal for teens and adults. There is no official minimum age for Invisalign, but the earliest we recommend starting Invisalign is seven years old. In general, seven is the soonest that children can start wearing braces because that is when the adult teeth begin to come in.

Invisalign is especially popular among older teens and adults due to its transparency and convenience .

The need for a more transparent choice is seen every day in dating, prom photos, and simply walking through high school halls.

In Addition, adults experience the same emotions for various reasons, such as at work or via Zoom meetings.

While being a kid often does not carry the same amount of self-consciousness as it does as an  adult,
Invisalign makes it easy for anyone to straighten their teeth without having to have traditional braces

3. Invisalign Makes Getting a New Smile Simple!

Invisalign is quite simple. This therapy provides an alternative that conventional orthodontics do not: The ability to remove the aligners.

In fact, you must remove your aligners before eating and drinking or you run the risk of damaging or staining the aligners. We highly recommend that patients of Invisalign wear their aligners for a minimum of 22 hours everyday.
If you do not wear your aligners, you may extend the treatment time which may cause your teeth to return to how they were prior to receiving Invisalign.

The biggest difference between Invisalign and traditional braces is that Invisalign is nearly painless.

Once the aligners are molded, the only “pain” you may experience is feeling the tension of the aligners doing their job. With traditional braces, your gums get stuck on the brackets and the irritation may be very uncomfortable. Yet, with invisalign, you never have to worry about your gums getting stabbed by loose wires either.

But don’t just take our word for it, check out what some of our customers have said about invisalign:

“I have gotten so used to my Invisalign aligners I almost forget I’m wearing them..and when I'm not wearing them, I feel like something’s missing. I went from having buck teeth and never smiling to walking around smiling cheek to cheek! I love my smile and I am so happy I went to Lakes! Dr. Alvarado is a miracle worker”- Jenny C

“I went to Lakes to get my 3 sons braces and when I got there I found out they were all candidates for invisalign. As a single mom I knew it was going to be a real struggle to schedule all three of them for check ups. Dr. Alvarado recommended Invisalign and after only 6 months my son Joshua was already on his last set of aligners and my other two boys were showing such improvement it was almost unbelievable. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Invisalign for anyone with a busy, active schedule.” - Janice T
