Dentistry and Hygiene
Jeffrey Alvarado D.D.S., Dentist and CEO
Dr. Alvarado was born in San Antonio, Texas. He completed his graduate study at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, receiving his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Beginning his practice in 2001, Dr. Alvarado and the Lakes Family Dental have continued his tradition of dental excellence by proudly serving the greater McAllen area for eight consecutive years. Dr. Alvarado is passionate about both youth and community organization; he currently serves as a board member to the Rio Grande Valley Youth Hockey Association, which fosters the development of athleticism and sportsmanship for children across the valley. He resides in McAllen, Texas with his two sons Ryan and Andrew.
Nicholas Quach D.D.S., Dentist
Dr. Quach was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta, Canada and moved to the United States to attend the University of the Pacific. He completed his undergraduate education receiving degrees in both Biological Sciences and Biochemistry. After graduation he attended the University of California Los Angeles School of Dentistry to obtain his Doctor of Dental Surgery and Masters degrees. Dr. Quach is genuinely interested in community service events. He has been involved in programs such as Give Kids A Smile Day and was a student director of a Saturday Children's Clinic at UCLA.
Melissa Ashburn R.D.H., Dental Hygienist
Melissa was raised in the Carlsbad, New Mexico area and graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1998. She then went on to attend Amarillo College and graduated with her A.S. in Dental Hygiene in 2002. After graduating, Melissa moved to Granbury where she began her career as a dental hygienist. Later, Melissa moved to Lubbock to join the dental hygiene team at Abbeville Dentistry. In 2007, she moved to McAllen and began working at The Lakes Family Dental. Melissa and her husband Colin have three children, Daniella, Andrea, and Natalya. She enjoys spending time with her family, volunteering in the community, and enjoying church activities.

Brenda, Dental Assistant
Brenda is from McAllen and went to school at the Academy of Health Care Professions in Austin, TX. She loves watching E! T.V. and spending time with her son, daughter, and fiance. When Brenda is not working you can find her at the movie theater. Her favorite movie is "Hot Tub Time Machine"
Priscilla, Dental Assistant
Priscilla was born in Michigan and raised here in the Rio Grande Valley. In her free time she loves being outside soaking up the sun. Her goal is to further her education and possibly becoming a teacher or a dental hygienist.
Jimmy-Dental Assistant
Jimmy is from Harlingen,Texas. On his free time he enjoys Fishing,hunting,and the outdoors. He is currently a student at TSTC where he is studying to become a Texas History Teacher.

Front Office
Robin, Front Office Manager
Though not a native of the valley, Robin has lived in the RGV for over twenty years. She comes to the Lakes Family Dental with many years experience as an office manager and is quite knowledgeable in all aspects of running and maintaining a friendly, productive and satisfying experience.
Erika, Receptionist
Erika was born and raised in Edinburg, Texas. She is currently working towards her degree in physical therapy and dance. Her proudest accomplishment thus far was her internship at Walt Disney World in Florida, where she was a character and show performer. Her goal is to one day open a dance and physical therapy facility.
Jennifer, Patient Financial
Jennifer was born and raised in the Rio Grande Valley. When not at work you will find her outdoors with her family.
Patty, Insurance Specialist
Patty was born in Chicago, IL and has lived in the Valley for the last 20 years. She is a very proud mother of 2 boys. When she is not at work, she is either out cheering on her 15 year old football player from EHS or is listening to her 12 year old play at band recitals.
Allie, Receptionist/ Office Photographer
Alie was raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She has a hint of Chinese heritage. Her main goal in life is to pursue a career in nursing. Alie is a homebody. When not at work, you can find her kiciing off her heels at home.
Yesenia, Administrative Assistant / Envision A Smile Specialist
Yesenia was born and raised in Edinburg, TX. She is currently working towards her degree in Occupational Therapy and Dance. When not at work, she is out shopping with her daughter and spending time with family.
Laura, Administrative Assistant
Laura was born in San Antonio and raised in Port Isabel. She graduated from Port Isabel HS and later from Kaplan College with a certificate for Medical Office Specialist. When not at work, she is spending time with her husband and daughter. She loves the outdoors and hanging out at the beach with friends.
